Magpie Park - Playwright
Magpie Park (they/them) is a Korean-American playwright, creative, and neurotic artist. Based in New York, they have an interest in the intersection between the fantastical and the disturbing. Their plays feature a grotesque take on magical realism, frequently through the lens of race, sexuality, and gender. Most recently their work has been featured at The Tank in NYC and Pork Filled Productions’ Unleashed.
Samantha Toy Ozeas - Director
Samantha Ozeas is a Brooklyn-based stage / film director. They have developed work with Ma-Yi Theater Company, SoHo Playhouse, SheNYC, Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective, The Makers' Ensemble, Tin Can Contingency, Southern Plains Productions, Dartboard Productions, Grassroots Artist Collective, Four Plays And, and 46 Minutes Collective. Sam has worked as an assistant director at Playwrights Horizons, Audible Theater, Santa Cruz Shakespeare, and learned from Chay Yew, Les Waters, David Auburn, Sivan Battat, Paul Mullins, and Lyam Gabel. For the past three seasons, Sam has worked as a narrative shorts programmer for the Asian American International Film Festival presented by Asian Cinevision. Her film work has been presented regionally at Hollyshorts Film Festival, San Francisco International Film Festival, and New York Shorts International Film Festival. They are a member of Leon Levy Foundation Roundabout Directors Group 6 and a 24 Hour Plays: Nationals Alum. BFA in Directing from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
Anna Aubry
ANNA AUBRY is a queer actor, comedian, and writer based in Brooklyn. She is a house team improviser on UCB’s Harold Night, Brooklyn Comedy Collective’s What Makes [You] Laugh? and Home Teams, and performs duo-prov around NYC with their show Are Jon And Anna Better as Friends? As an actor, Anna specializes in new work and has performed off-Broadway and downtown (see resume). Vulture Mag described her recent work in Twelve Minor Prophets (dir. Leo Egger) as excellent. Anna sold out the NYC run of her solo show Doom Tank. Anna graduated from Oberlin, receiving Highest Honors in Theatre and The Nash Drama Award, and holds a certificate of study from The Moscow Art Theatre School. What fuels Anna’s work is their love of human connection, their belief that laughter is the best thing ever, and the thrilling/messy/joyful energy that comes from creating truthful work with others.
Jonathan Champion
Jonathan Champion is a graduate from Carnegie Mellon University (BFA Acting), and is thrilled to be participating in his first B&E Rooftop Reading! Recent credits include a supporting role in the feature film “Re-Entry”, a supporting role in the Showtime series “American Rust”, and an understudy role at the Mint Theatre Company! You might have also seen him as a member of the live-play TTRPG series “Bards of New York”! Enjoy the show!

Emily S. Chang (she/her) is an NYC based artist. She is delighted to be back for her second Rooftop Reading! Regional: The Coast Starlight and A Christmas Carol (Milwaukee Repertory Theater); As You Like It and A Midwinter Night’s Dream (The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey); The Tempest, Into the Woods, and The Bridges of Madison County (Texas Shakespeare Festival); Domesticated (Steppenwolf Theatre) and Seussical (Chicago Shakespeare Theater). Sammy Pignalosa
Sammy Pignalosa (he/him) is an NYC based performer and graduate of the Institute for American Musical Theatre. Theatre helps Sammy connect with his fellow man and potentially a higher power—if any are listening, he always felt he was right for prophethood but lacked the right sponsor. Sarah Shin is a Korean American theatre artist whose work lives at the intersection of creative leadership, community engagement, cultural preservation and technological innovation. Cheyenne (she/her) is a Pittsburgh born actor, lyricist, & creator who currently resides in New York City. Cheyenne is not only an actor but also a stand-up comedian, cinematographer, & Co-founder of Dartboard production company. She always brings her sense of community & individuality to any role she plays. Recently, she has taken to the stage in Romeo&Juliet with Catskill Mountain Shakespeare Company. As she continues to make her first ever film this summer she remembers that all things take time! Cheyenne takes pleasure in turning nothing into something and believes now, more than ever, is the time to innovate! She hopes to meet you, to color with you, and to find inspiration together.
Michelle Chan - Producer & Stage Directions
Michelle Chan (she/her) is a director, theatremaker, and producer from Hong Kong. She is a first-gen Taiwanese-American whose work attempts to redefine the roles fabricating the American culture, usually through intersections of gender, class and/or race. Her directing work has been seen at Ringling Museum/Asolo Rep, WP Theater, Dramatist Guild Foundation, Atlantic Stage 2, Connelly Theater, The Flea, Brick Aux, Theatre Row, Keen Company, Horizon Theatre, Hudson Guild Theatre, Dixon Place, The Tank, SERIALS, The Maker’s Space, Lime Arts, NYU, The American Opera Project, and fringe festivals across the nation. is a Queer, Catholic, Appalachian theatre practitioner who facilitates the development and consumption of new works by traditionally underrepresented artists. She is drawn to projects that allow us to expand our ideas on how we tell stories and who those stories serve. This is her eighth summer producing the Rooftop Reading series. Molly Van Der Molen (she/her) is a playwright, director and creative producer based in NYC and the SF Bay Area. She’s a proud Co-Artistic Director of Breaking & Entering Theatre Collective and the Company Associate at Shotgun Players in Berkeley, CA. Molly is dedicated to curating opportunities for emerging artists and envisions a sustainable future for theatre that is radically collaborative, equitable and doesn’t shy away from what’s true. She’s a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College and a die hard lover of ice cream.
